Job Description

Provides direct patient care under the guidance of the Registered Nurse or designated health care professional in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations and within the policies, procedures, guidelines of Bon Secours Mercy Health. Provides basic patient care including care and comfort, recording vital signs, personal care and hygiene, and mobility, including unit based specialty duties. Acts as liaison between patient and nurse to report changes or concerns. Provides high level customer service to patients, families, visitors, and employees. Provides accurate, precise, timely documentation for patient care. Uses professional verbal and written communication skills. Requires recent experience in acute care, physician's office, home health/hospice, or long term care facility (preferred). Skills include communication, understanding healthcare team directions, knowledge of safety standards, infection prevention, clerical duties, team dynamics, patient data collection, basic hygiene, feeding, hydration, nutrition, elimination, ambulation, use of clinical technology, compassionate care, accountability, and escalation of concerns. Certifications required include BLS (preferred upon hire) and completion of nursing aide training or equivalent. Education: None. Shift: Full Time, 36 weekly hours, Day/Evening shifts, scheduled every other weekend.
